Question: I know some people who are very serious about which way the toilet paper should be presented in the toilet paper holder. Me, I prefer over... It provides you with easy accesss. Under, it hugs the wall, and is harder to grab. How serious are you about how the toilet paper should be placed in the holder? |

Definitely over. Much easier to find the end.
Over.
people who care whether is goes over or under bother me.
The paper should hang over! That's the only way!
As big as my family is, they don't last long enough to care. We have three rolls just sitting on a counter next to the toilet.
You are opening a can of worms here!!!!! I am an under person. I just like it better that way. Every person has their own way of doing things though.
I don't care how it's hung in the holder. It just better be there when I need it!!!!!! lol
I like mine under. It just looks so much neater.
Yea, over it's easier to grab, I dont want my paper sticking to the germy walls!! Well, it doesn't really matter, I just like over...
no! Under! That way i can pull down, not up. Gravity is on my side when its under.
over, cause then if you have poop on your hand you don't get it on the wall!!!!!
the correct way to load toilet paper is over!
yes, over. not too serious, but under can get annoying.
OVER
Yeah over, its important to be able to deal with it anyway it is though. I used to have a vertical stick with the TP just unrolling sideways. Maybe that was best.
i dont really care but i put it over
but thats just me
If you have any two year olds in the house, I would suggest "under" because they will spin the roll and it'll be all over the place. I speak from experience. Otherwise, over.
over, yet you need to put in under if you have cats.
Over. People who place it under are dwelling in a fools paradise of denial and naivete.
I used to think under, but have changed after living with someone who puts it over the top.. lol
It should be place over. It is much more convenient. It is also rude if you have guests over. They might feel obligated to fix it. They shouldn't have to.
i dont know about etiquette regarding toilet paper. I know I like to have it over.
I read somewhere that hosts that put the toilet paper over are generous, and those that put it under are cheapskates. I dont know if theres any truth to this, but it is interesting.
Over is definitely better
A serious question deserves a serious answer!
Over, of course! Anyone who states under should be whipped with a wet noodle!
Over
ME AND MY BOYFRIEND ARGUE ABOUT THIS QUESTION ALL THE TIME. HE SA IDS OVER AND I SAY UNDER. WHENEVER I GO INTO THE BATHROOM I CHANGE IT UNDER AND THEN HE CHANGES IT OVER, WE GO THROUGH THIS ALL DAY.
Over, even in hotels I go to the have it over and a little fold on the end so its even easier to grab. I saw a show the other night and the maids were taught to make a fan out of the end. It looked pretty.
I am with you....over is the way to go. I'm very passionate about this....No...not really, but if i'm loading it, it's going over.
The laws of physics clearly dictate that the proper way to load a roll of toilet paper is the "under" method. This gives the user more control over how much tissue they use, and reduces the stress and frustration caused by the continuous premature tearing of the tissue that the "over" method causes.
How do you like that answer?
definitely over. ...unless you enjoy sitting there and don't mind the challenge of searching "under" =)
Personally, I prefer under because of my small bathroom (the over technique causes the illusion of taking too much space). I do, however, believe the over is proper for a public toilet.
over. It's a lot earier to get too.
over
rationale
1) it usually will come into contact with the wall and/or the bottom of the cavity if there is one if it is 'under' where as over won't hit the boundary of any tp cavity (unless the roll is larger than the cavity lol)
2) over usually wont unroll with a lil tug where as sometimes under will [rewinding toilet paper when it's piled on the floor is a waste of time ...even worse lost cause if it managed to unroll into the toilet lol]
3) over looks better aesthetically and gives greater feng shui
[it is blocking view of the rest of the roll]
the one downside to over is that the loose end is usually closer to the toilet
so over definitely defeats under and that's the under/over of it
xkey
I somehow manage to figure out how to get some off the roll either way, but dear husband is definately an over the top man. He changes it if its under...LOL-- wish he ws so picky about his dirty laundry and where it should go!!!! LOL!!!
It's not a big deal, but I think under looks neater and you're less likely to pull the first sheet and wind up with half the roll in your lap.
This is one of my pet peeves! I like it over the top and my reason is: When the kids were toddlers and they saw one tiny piece hanging from the bottom...there it went.... it was too tempting not to take their little chubby hands and give it a tug. LOL!! Somehow if it were placed on the top they left it alone.....
I read somewhere that the toilet paper companies marketed the idea that proper etiquette is to load the paper in the under fashion.
I found out that this was so you would actually use more toilet paper.
I like it over for the easy access and don't care what anyone thinks of it.
definitely OVER! because then when the toilet paper is sticking to itself you just take your thumb and slide it upside the roll until it catches and you can grab it! NO OTHER WAY!!! been there many times!!!
Its got to be over and no if ands or buts about it.
OVER!!!! OVER!!!! OVER!!!!! OVER!!!!
Definitely over.
It doesn't' matter in my house my rotti drags it off the roll and eats it if I forget to shut the bathroom door.
Whoa lifes to short to worry about how long as though its on there I could care less.
I so totally am with you...under often times makes you search for it! Over is always right their ready when you are! lol! I am pretty OCD about the way the toilet paper goes, in fact back in college, my roomate was OCD about it going under, and everytime one of us went to the bathroom, we would switch it to our liking...goofy I know, but I like what I like!
Over. easier to find and keeps fingers off the wall
Take the lead of hotels, they do it "over".
Very serious - it goes OVER.
I have to admit I never gave it much thought until some woman I later deemed as crazy and probably troubled by an undiagnosed case of OCD did this as a topic for her presentation in our public speaking class. Though I suspect she had some serious issues, she did make a good point. Back in the day when toilet paper had printed designs on it, you could only see the entire print if you hung it with the loose end over the top. Additionally, I remember the house we grew up in had a TP holder that with a slight tug would spin perpetually until all of the toilet paper was on the floor. It would only do this if you hung the paper with the loose end under. So, with these considerations, I would say, over.
Definitely over.
